Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms and Conditions aim to define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between KoStart (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') and users regarding the use of services provided on the website www.ko-start.com (hereinafter referred to as 'the Site'), which offers Korean life information services for foreigners (hereinafter referred to as 'the Service').
Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in these Terms and Conditions are defined as follows: โ 'Service' means all content and functions provided by the Company, including AI chatbot consultation, blog, community, job information, university information, and Korean life guides. โก 'User' includes both members and non-members who access the Site and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. โข 'Member' refers to a person who has registered with personal information on the Site and can continuously receive information from the Site and use the services provided by the Company. โฃ 'Non-member' refers to a person who uses some services provided on the Site without membership registration. โค 'AI Chatbot' means a service that automatically answers users' questions using artificial intelligence technology. โฅ 'Post' means any text, document, image, photo, video, file, link, etc. posted by users on the Site while using the Service.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms)
โ These Terms become effective by being posted on the Service screen or notified to users by other means. โก The Company may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate relevant laws such as the 'Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions' and the 'Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.' โข When the Company amends the Terms, it shall announce the application date and reasons for amendment along with the current Terms on the initial screen of the Site from 7 days before the application date until the day before the application date. However, in case of amendments unfavorable to users, the Company shall notify at least 30 days in advance and provide individual notification via email. โฃ If users do not agree to the application of the amended Terms, either the Company or users may terminate the service use agreement. If users do not express their refusal until the application date of the Terms change, they are deemed to have agreed to the amendment.
Article 4 (Provision and Modification of Services)
โ The Company provides the following services: 1. AI chatbot-based Korean life consultation service (providing information and consultation on all aspects of Korean life including visa, housing, employment, education, culture, healthcare, transportation, finance, etc.), 2. Blog service (providing various content such as Korean life tips, cultural information, travel guides, life know-how, etc.), 3. Community service (Q&A board, experience sharing, networking and information exchange among foreigners), 4. Job information service (foreign employment information, job seeker profile registration and matching), 5. University information and admission guide service (Korean university information, admission requirements, foreign student statistics, etc.), 6. Multilingual translation and localization service (supporting Korean, English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Uzbek), 7. Personalized recommendation service (information recommendations based on users' interests and stay purposes), 8. All other services that the Company develops additionally or provides to users through partnership agreements. โก The Company may change all or part of the services provided according to operational and technical needs when there are reasonable grounds, and shall announce such matters on the Site before the change. โข For free services, the Company may divide the service into certain ranges and designate available times for each range separately, and shall announce such matters in advance. โฃ For non-members, AI chatbot service is limited to 3 times per day, and unlimited use is available after membership registration.
Article 5 (Service Interruption)
โ The Company may temporarily suspend the provision of services in case of maintenance, inspection, replacement and failure of information and communication facilities such as computers, communication disconnection, or other significant operational reasons. โก The Company shall not be liable for damages incurred by users or third parties due to temporary suspension of service provision under Paragraph 1. However, this shall not apply if the Company has intent or gross negligence. โข If the Company cannot provide services due to business conversion, business abandonment, integration between companies, etc., the Company shall notify on the Site and compensate consumers according to the conditions initially presented by the Company. โฃ The Company's responsibility for service suspension is exempted if services cannot be provided due to force majeure such as natural disasters, national emergencies, technical defects that are difficult to resolve, or other unavoidable circumstances.
Article 6 (Membership Registration and Withdrawal)
โ Users apply for membership by filling in member information (email, name, password, nationality, stay purpose, interests, etc.) according to the registration form determined by the Company and expressing their intention to agree to these Terms. โก The Company shall register as members those users who have applied for membership as described in Paragraph 1, unless they fall under any of the following: 1. If there are false statements, omissions, or errors in the registration information, 2. If it is determined that registration as a member causes significant technical difficulties for the Company, 3. If under 14 years of age (without legal guardian's consent), 4. If previously lost membership qualification (except those who have obtained the Company's approval for re-registration after 3 years from loss of membership), 5. If using another person's name, 6. If intending to use the service for illegal purposes or commercial gain. โข The membership registration contract is established when the Company's approval reaches the member. โฃ Members must immediately notify the Company of any changes to their registration information via email or other methods. โค Members may request membership withdrawal at any time, and the Company shall immediately process the withdrawal. However, information that must be preserved according to relevant laws shall be retained for the statutory period.
Article 7 (Modification of Member Information and Personal Information Protection)
โ Members can view and modify their personal information at any time through the personal information management screen. However, email and other information necessary for service management cannot be modified. โก Members must inform the Company of any changes to information provided during membership registration by making online modifications or notifying via email or other methods. โข The Company is not responsible for any disadvantages resulting from failure to notify the Company of changes mentioned in Paragraph 2. โฃ The Company strives to protect members' personal information as prescribed by relevant laws such as the 'Personal Information Protection Act' and the 'Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.' Relevant laws and the Company's Privacy Policy apply to the protection and use of personal information. โค The Company does not provide members' personal information to third parties without their consent. However, exceptions apply in the following cases: 1. When users have given prior consent, 2. When required by law or requested by investigative agencies according to procedures and methods defined by law for investigative purposes.
Article 8 (Obligations of Members)
โ Members shall not engage in the following acts: 1. Registering false information during application or modification, 2. Stealing others' information, 3. Changing information posted by the Company, 4. Transmitting or posting information (such as computer programs) other than information determined by the Company, 5. Infringing on copyrights and other intellectual property rights of the Company or third parties, 6. Damaging the reputation of the Company or third parties or interfering with their business, 7. Publicly disclosing or posting obscene or violent messages, images, sounds, or other information contrary to public order and morals on the Site, 8. Using the service for commercial purposes without the Company's consent, 9. Other illegal or improper acts. โก Members must comply with relevant laws, provisions of these Terms, precautions announced in relation to the Service, and matters notified by the Company, and shall not engage in acts that interfere with the Company's business. โข Members shall not allow third parties to use their account (email, password), and if they become aware that their account has been stolen or is being used by a third party, they must immediately notify the Company and follow the Company's guidance.
Article 9 (Copyright of Posts)
โ The copyright of posts posted by users within the Service belongs to the author of the post. โก Posts posted by users within the Service may be exposed in search results, services, and related promotions, and may be partially modified, reproduced, or edited within the scope necessary for such exposure. In this case, the Company complies with copyright law provisions, and users can take measures such as deletion, exclusion from search results, or making private at any time through customer service or service management functions. โข If the Company wishes to use users' posts in ways other than those described in Paragraph 2, it must obtain prior consent from users via phone, fax, email, etc.
Article 10 (Use of AI Chatbot Service)
โ AI chatbot service is provided using third-party AI technology such as OpenAI. โก Information provided by AI chatbots is for reference only and does not have legal or official effect. Please consult with experts before making important decisions. โข Conversation content with AI chatbots may be stored in anonymized form for service improvement purposes, and users may request deletion of chat records at any time. โฃ Non-members can use the AI chatbot for free up to 3 times per day, and members can use it unlimitedly.
Article 11 (Google Analytics and Cookies)
โ The Company uses Google Analytics (Measurement ID: G-JELPT14CJL) and Vercel Analytics to improve services and enhance user experience. โก Page views, user behavior patterns, service usage statistics, etc. may be collected through these tools, and the collected data is anonymized and used only for statistical purposes. โข Users can refuse cookie storage through browser settings, but this may limit the use of some services.
Article 12 (Disclaimer)
โ The Company is exempted from responsibility for service provision if services cannot be provided due to natural disasters or equivalent force majeure. โก The Company is not responsible for service usage disruptions caused by users' own fault. โข The Company is not responsible for users' failure to obtain expected profits or losses through service use, nor for damages caused by materials obtained through the Service. โฃ The Company is not responsible for the reliability, accuracy, and other content of various information, materials, and facts posted by users on the Service. โค The Company has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising between users or between users and third parties through the Service and is not responsible for compensating for resulting damages.
Article 13 (Jurisdiction and Governing Law)
โ For lawsuits filed regarding disputes arising from service use, Korean courts shall have jurisdiction. โก Korean law shall apply to lawsuits filed between the Company and users.
Limitations of AI Chatbot Service
KoStart's AI chatbot is intended for informational purposes and does not constitute legal, medical, financial, or accounting advice. For important decisions (visa applications, admissions, employment contracts, etc.), please consult with a qualified professional. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy of AI responses and are not liable for any damages resulting from such responses.
User-Generated Content (UGC) Liability
Community posts, blog comments, reviews, and other user-generated content represent the personal opinions of the author and do not represent the companys views. The accuracy and legality of such content are the sole responsibility of the author. Authors agree that they will be liable for any damages caused by posts that defame others or infringe on intellectual property rights.
