How long did it take you to understand Korean news and historical content?

Hello! I am also a student learning Korean. One of my goals is to understand the news in Korean, watch YouTube videos related to history, and read history books. Is there anyone here who has been able to deeply understand political or historical content? I'm curious about how long it took you.

Currently, I am mainly trying to match my listening skills with my reading comprehension through YouTube videos. I also plan to participate in Korean history-related exhibitions or seminars that are often held in Gangnam or Hongdae. I'm wondering if these methods will be helpful.

I would appreciate your experiences or advice! It would be great if you could share what methods were effective and how long it took.
