What is your experience as a foreigner reading American news through Korean news sources?

Do you also mainly get news about the United States through Korean news media? Lately, as my interest in economics and politics has grown, I find myself watching Korean news more often. Korean news feels more objective to me as it reports U.S. news from a third-party perspective.

Especially when I'm at a cafe in Gangnam or Hongdae, I sometimes compare U.S. news I've seen through Korean media with friends. American news sometimes feels too commercialized, but Korean media seems relatively less so. For example, even in health-related information, American experts often seem to have a strong intention to sell something.

What experiences have you had? Do you think getting news about the United States through Korean news is a better way? I would like to hear your opinions.
