Is makeup prohibited in Korean schools?

In Korea and Japan, it is commonly known that makeup is generally prohibited in schools, but on TikTok, we often see high school students clearly wearing makeup. How are students allowed to wear makeup at school? Is it possible that although it is prohibited by the rules, it is not strictly enforced in reality? I had a similar experience in the United States. Makeup was prohibited at my middle school, but students who were considered troublemakers would still wear makeup. Of course, this sometimes caused issues at school.
