I'm curious about the pronunciation rules for the final consonant ㅅ + 하다.

Hello, everyone. Recently, I've been struggling with Korean pronunciation issues. I learned that ㅅ+ㅎ is pronounced as ㅆ, but today I came across the word '비슷하다' which was written as '비스타다' on Naver. I understand that this is because ㅅ changes to ㄷ in final position and ㅎ makes it a harsh sound. So, my question is, is there a reason why '비슷하다' follows the ㄷ+ㅎ=ㅌ rule instead of ㅅ+ㅎ=ㅆ? Could it be because '비슷' is the stem of the word and '하다' is attached to it? If so, does a similar rule apply to words with ㅈ as well? If anyone knows about this, I would appreciate your help.
