What should you do when you receive a notice of termination of contract from a private institute?

Hello! It's been over a year since I came to Korea. I am currently working at an English academy in Gangnam, Seoul. However, the director suddenly informed me that they want to terminate my contract early. It's really surprising. The original contract was until June, but they want to end it in February. The reason is that they don't want teachers to leave during the semester, but it seems like an excuse... Has anyone else received a notice of early contract termination like me at an academy? I'm also worried about my severance pay, and I'm wondering how to protect it. From what I've learned, it seems like the details specified in the contract are important. Is there a better way? I would appreciate advice from those with experience! Thank you!
