How to resign before the end of a contract with a hagwon?

Hello! It's been 11 months since I came to Korea, and I'm currently working at an academy in Gangnam. My contract end date is March 31st, but today the director came and said they would like me to leave on March 6th. If this happens, I won't even get my severance pay... Honestly, quitting early is very tempting, but it's also a shame to give up the severance pay. Plus, I suddenly have to start preparing to move. The contract states that the academy must give a 30-day notice if they want to end the contract early, but it seems like that wasn't followed in this case. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm not sure how to handle this situation. If you have any good advice, please let me know! ㅠㅠ
