What should be considered when transferring from a private academy to a public school?

Hello, I am currently working at an academy but I want to transfer to a public school. Right now, I am under a lot of work stress at the academy, and for personal reasons, I cannot quit until the contract ends. Even on my days off, I keep receiving work-related calls and I am getting tired. I would like to ask those who have experience transferring from an academy to a public school. Is there a way to go to a public school without going through the EPIK program? Also, I am curious about how the salary changes after transferring to a public school. Lastly, I would like to know how the work-life balance in a public school has improved compared to an academy. I would appreciate any advice or experiences shared with me as I am considering transitioning to a public school.
