I am curious about opinions on non-native English teachers in Korea.

In Korea, you can often see non-native English teachers from Europe or Russia. Even if they speak English well, there are stories that they are hired because they are not native speakers and because they are white. From the perspective of children and parents, this might feel like a kind of deception. On the other hand, I've heard that Asian native English teachers often have difficulty getting hired simply because of their appearance. I find this situation quite ironic. I'm curious about what you think about this phenomenon. Have you witnessed many cases like this in areas like Gangnam or Hongdae, and could you share any experiences you have?
