Hello, I would like to share some precautions for foreign women planning to visit Gangneung. Recently, my friend and I had an experience where a strange man approached us in Gangneung. He appeared to be in his late 30s to early 40s and suggested that we get into his car. When we refused, he drove away, but about 15 minutes later, we noticed he was following us from behind. He looked like he could be Japanese, so it was easy to recognize him. For our safety, we crossed the street and entered a convenience store to ask our friends for help. The man lingered outside the convenience store for a moment, but when he saw me making a phone call, he ran away. I believe this situation occurred because we were foreign women. Always be mindful of your safety while traveling, and if possible, it’s better to be accompanied by male friends.
