Hello, I am a Korean person from Russia and I would like to share my experiences of living in Korea. I really love Korea, but recently I have been feeling negative looks due to being Russian when showing my identification.
I have been living in Korea since 2019, and I have been here before the Ukraine war. I do not support the war and I do not like the Russian government. Many foreigners do not know the situation in Russia well, and although many people oppose the government, it is not easy to protest.
I understand the reasons why foreigners are sometimes not welcomed in Korea. When some foreigners behave rudely or disruptively, I also feel embarrassed. However, it seems that foreigners' mistakes are often judged more harshly.
I came to Korea when I was 13, and at that time, I did not focus much on studying or learning Korean. I regret it now, and I feel sorry for not being fully integrated into Korean society.
I am grateful for the kindness of Korean people, and I hope you understand that many foreigners come here simply because their lives are not easy. I would like to hear your honest opinions.
