Please advise on the timing for a one-year contract as an English instructor in South Korea.

Hello. I will soon be returning to Korea to attend a language school for a semester. Recently, I left my job in Germany and since I don't have any specific plans for the fall, I am considering a one-year contract as an English instructor. My goal is to pursue graduate school next fall. I am thinking about looking for an English teaching position starting this summer, but I wonder if it would be possible to end the contract around the end of August next year. In the past, when I worked at a language school, I started and ended in March, so I'm not sure how it would work with a start and end in August this time. I am also considering working at a public school, and I am curious if that is possible at this point. If anyone has experience or advice regarding contract end dates, I would appreciate your input.
